Californian was not passing by. They simply watched titanic sink and its captain slept whole time. Officers wanted to check it out, but captain wouldnt allow it. If they had slowly sailed towards titanic, they would arrive before the ship sank and no one would have died.

Good fan theory, one that my friends and I even discussed when this movie was new, but there’s a few flaws. 1) Biff asks how Marty got past security downstairs. This was foreshadowing. He entered the building from the roof, and would leave the same way. Remember that he didn’t even try to go downstairs when escaping. 2) Doc gets the rope with the flags entirely on accident immediately before going to rescue him, and improvised using it to save him. If he really did intentionally go there to save Marty, he would have already had a rope.

Michael Fox was a fantastic actor. I loved all his movies and shows. he will be missed. I know his family is hurting. they miss him so. may God bless them and help them get through these hard.times.
